I have a i7 laptop using GTX 765M GPU.

When i install ubuntun 14.04 it works and i can switch between my intel onboard gfx and my 765M.

however after i restart and try again it gives me an error and from that moment on will never work again.

Does anyone have or had this issue, ive followed various guides but still unable to fix.

Knowing exactly what error you're getting would be a good start.

the issue is when you switch between intel onboard and nvidia 765m gpu.

Do you have any prohibitory drivers installed for the Nvidia GPU at all?

No i dont mate.

It does work as its fine on frush install of ubuntun. works fine, then somewhere along the line its getting messed up.

ive tried a few guides as others had the same error but i cant sort it.

Never had that issue before, l found the following method worked for me:

1. sudo add-apt-repository ppa:xorg-edgers/ppa -y

2. sudo apt-get update

3. Then run the driver app, install the propriety driver and reboot once installed.

Or

4. sudo apt-get install nvidia-current

5. Reboot.

Sorry for late reply.

I use the info on this site for this.
