UCAS applicants this year

Applied for accounting & finance and received offers from all 5 unis.

Gave a firm reply to De Montfort and an insurance reply to UWE, who gave me offers of BBC and CCC.

All the more reason to go along and try to cure your fear, everyone needs to have an interview eventually. I was exactly the same a few years ago but the only way to improve is to confront uncomfortable situations, not to avoid them.

What you say is logical, however when facing something you are genuinely worried about it is often easier to avoid putting yourself in that situation. Plus there is always the fear in the back of their minds that a poor interview could scupper their chances - so why take the risk?

With formal interviews for things like maths and sciences, your personal skills will not really affect your chances of getting in much at all. What they care about are the problems which they give you, they don't care how much they like you as a person, if you can do all the questions they give you better than anyone else, you'll get the offer.

:D applied now.

Realised afterwards I put "6355/ Economics 5 -" instead of "6355 Economics 5 - Labour Markets" as there were two options the school could take and I didn't know which was taken(haven't started that module yet), so left it blank, as well as the / typo, until I could find out, then forgot to check economics as I thought it was all finished.

Is this major, or a minor insignificance?

They won't even notice it. They are only going to be interested in completed modules anyway, and even those can be resat.

Are you supposed to see the actual reference in track?

In mine it just has:

portsmouth
bristol
nottingham

had a conditional offer from portsmouth of 240 point which i'm pleased with however this was really just my insurance choice. Nottingham is top of the list atm, still waiting to hear from them though

I haven't finished mine, I'm still waiting on a reference. They've changed it with regards to the reference haven't they? Wasn't it that we could simply type the reference in ourselves? Does it get sent to the careers advisors at school/college then they send it to the University?

Um, it would be madness to let you type your own reference!

It does get sent to the referree who then releases it for processing by UCAS.

Maybe I did mine as an individual then, as opposed to through my college last year. I definitetly just copied the reference from a piece of paper on to the application.

Just had a letter through from Leeds College of Music - wanting an interview on the 9th January! Scary stuff!
They want a portfolio of stuff I've done and some other written material and there'll be a written theory test!

Mine finally got sent off on friday so I should hopefully get my letter with my tracking details on monday so that I can see if any universities have been insane enough to accept me :p

May take a bit longer to get the letter, UCAS can be slow. Mine took about 4 days to arrive, and the offers won't come for a few weeks.
