My UCAS was sent off on the 19th December, got a letter yesterday from one of my uni asking me to fill in a form about fee assement, I thought I must have made a mistake as I am sure I don't need to do this. So went on my ucas to check all my details were correct, it seems that my Nationality was set as Chinese by mistake(altho I am chinese but I hold a British Passport) what can I do about it now?My residential catergory is ser as UK Citizen/EU National if that helps.

Please help,I'm really worried and ****ed off with myself to allow this mistake

Contact who?UCAS or the Uni's?

Andr3w, yeah I'm in 6th form will talk to my head of year and tutor tomorrow, not sure what they can do?Can they change it or something?

Thanks

Portsmouth sent me the letter with fee assement questionairre along with the thank you for applying, etc.

I've had letters from Anglia Ruskin and De Montfort Uni saying thank you for applying but there wasn't a fee asssement questionairre.

So its best if I contact UCAS?

So I should speak to my tutor first then contact UCAS if they can't do anything about it?

Yeah I thought my head of year(referee) would have realised but then again hes dopey and he probs thought if I'm chinese my nationality must be chinese. Can't believe I've made that mistake tho.

EDIT/ I even out my national identity as British,so how did I and my referee overlooked the nationality is beyond me..

Bit of an update, well I phoned UCAS as I couldn't wait till tomorrow to speak to my tutor(impatient I know, but I kept thinking about the mistake and couldn't concentrate on revising for my Psychology retakes tomorrow).UCAS told me I had to phone all the Uni's as the application has been sent off so there was nothing I can do.

I have phoned 5 out of 6 Uni's. Why is it some Uni's are so much more efficeint than others?Brighton said I had to send a letter to them and an email regarding the situation. Portsmouth said I just need to sent the form back with a copy of my passport and Kent,it went straight to voicemail stating the admins office is closed for xmas holidays and will be back on the 3rd.LOL The other Uni's on the other hand just changed it straight away on the system.

Got to phone the last uni cos there closed. :o

One kinda good news was whilst talking to the admissions staff of De Montfort she said I've got an interview with them. :p

Off topic a bit but do you need you need to include ALL grades obtained in college, even if you didnt sit the exam ?
Can you explain a bit clearer please,so how did you get the grade if there was no exam?

ughh beaten :p

If you got a U just don't cash it in. I got a U in one of my subject didn't cash it in and didn't put it on my UCAS. :)

cash it in??

well we have five days, i cant find my GCSE results to find out what exam boards they were and what not, no personal statement and no reference.....
Cash it in is basically when your not carrying the subject onto A2 and having a grade for AS. You have to cash in your AS if you want ucas points for it if your not carrying it onto A2.

Mate you better hurry up cos you may run into a few obstacles like me :p
My UCAS was all ready to go in mid-November but my art teacher(who is also my tutor) said I was definitely predicted a B, decided not to inform me that my other art teacher changed it to a C. She continued not saying anything even when I was talking to her about how I need a B in art for my uni. My referee(who happens to be going out with her) came back and showed me my predicted grades C in art  asked my tutor/art teacher again if my predicted grade was a B,she said yes so I went "Oh but Mr.X said its a C" she was like "Oh yes, Mr (other art teacher) changed it"

She and the other art teacher basically blackmailed me into doing all my artwork + more and I was given a week to do it. Finished it whilst the other teacher said its fine she said that I havent done enough writing and made me do it again. She basically used that excuse for a month. Eventually my other art teacher couldn't stand it anymore and changed it to a B.

Think the reason they were being difficult was cos they didnt want me to do Architecture, they both wanted me to do an Art Foundation course like what they did. :p

Yeah, I was really frustrated about it actually,I was really close to just having a right go at the teachers and just leave but I thought that won't do any good.

Won't it be really hard to get reference from your old teachers, etc with like 5 days to go?

In my personal statement I wrote why I chose the course, my hobbies, how my current subjects will aid me in my chosen course and my extra curricular activities.

Yeah just bend the truth a little ;) I know I did a little, I said I played basketball for the school for 2 years featuring regularly(although I wasn't a regular)

I know a lot of my mates made up hobbies or extra curriculars like playing football for a Sunday League Team for 6 years, helped out in House Music, etc. :o
