Can you guys start me off with all the software/settings I will need to start overclocking?
All the settings to turn off downclocking at idle etc too please :D
Then whats a good voltage for 3.8?... roughly?

So far I'm, idleing at about 38

well for 3.8 you would probably need 180BCLK
leave turbo mode on

and set vcore to around 1.3 then work down until you find the low stable voltage

you could do with some faster ram to get a higher clock

the ud5 is a great platform and a real gem to start a system off with

however, some of its memory dividers are a little rocky

[speaking from experience of handling over 400 ud5's :)]

What about all those settings like c1e c3 eist all that crazy stuff I cant understand.
I take it I put the oc thingy on extreme too to allow for voltage adjustment?

There are so many guides for clocking these boards/cpu's just have a search.

All i did to mine was up the vcore to 1.3, turbo on, bclk 200.
disable c1e.

C1E and EIST are usually off. I leave Turbo mode off as well, because I don't like leaving things like that on auto.

Don't get too hung up on the RAM speed - it has no effect on real-world performance. But you do need to make sure you know what the max RAM speed is for your RAM.

I found (with that board at least) that I had to run the QPI volts very high - about 1.575 IIRC, to keep the CPU stable. I'm also running the CPU PLL at 2.16V, way above spec. It seems to make only a very minor difference.

One caveat: this is for a C0 chip, not a D0, and it only does 3.7GHz, and that when it's cold.
