Reading through the manual of my Gugabyte UD5, it state that it supports teaming for the dual gigabyte ports.

The problem is i cannot find the drivers/utility on the motherboard disk, can anybody point me in the right direction.

Drivers here :
http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Support/Motherboard/Driver_Model.aspx?ProductID=2958#anchor_os

Try opening up Network Connections, go to properties for one of the NICS, then configure, IIRC that's where Intel puts all the advanced options for VLANs and Teaming, maybe realtek does it the same way.

If not, the drivers might put a config utility in control panel.

Edit: had a look around and apparently it should be on the CD. I can't find it on Realteks site. Try this app (vista 32/64), Its apparently the version from a driver cd for a previous model motherboard (UD3, but theres a good chance they use the same LAN parts) http://geronet.com.au/stuff/VLAN.zip

Alternatively create a support ticket at gigabytes website saying it's not on the CD and they should send you it.

Thanks but those drivers wont install on win 7.

Unable to find any teaming options in the properties of the NIC's.

Think im going to have to raise a support ticket?

I've got the UD4P - not sure if it does it but you certainly peeked my curiosity - only problem I can see is that you need the 'other' machine to be teamed as well or it will bottleneck - limited use in a home environment - does your switch need to support it?

Its doing my head in now.

It really annoys me that companies like Gigabyte advertise things like Network Interface Teaming in several places, but do not show you or provide the necessary drivers and information to actually enable / set it up.

massive resurrection alert!

Did you get it working in the end? I'm busy playing around with my UD4P and although I don't have dual gigabit onboard, I was diagnosing a problem with my connection using the Realtek Ethernet Diagnostic Utility and you'll never guess what I found...

There is an option to team multiple physical adapters - we might have been looking to the wrong people! (Assuming your onboard is Realtek like mine?)

Will have a play - unfortunately I'll be using the onboard and a Belkin pci gigabit card - but you never know...

Edit: Boo! no dice - the option to team is (unsurprisingly) only available on the Realtek Gigabit, so I guess it should work for you but I'll have to source a Realtek add in card if I want it :(

Is there any point in teaming the connections, isn't this just for HA needs? I didn't think it was faster or anything?!

Not a huge amount of use in the home environment - although the Realtek blurb talks about speed and fail-over redundancy - but then this Overclockers... get that network humming :D Given how cheap the Realtek cards are, if I can find a compatible one I'll definitely give it a go, just to see the 2.0Gb/s sink in the adapter properties ;)
