I need a speaker for:
Bathroom
Kitchen/Conservatory/BBQ so can have 1 or 2 to cover these 3

UE BOOM 2 is £85 today
JBL Charge 3 is £160
Sonos is £130 per speaker.

I already have 3 audio casts, what is the best device for playing music through spotify for at home use/multiroom and the odd small gathering?

Is it worth paying more for JBL Charge 3 or just get 2 UE booms and is it possible to stereo?

Got a Charge 3, the range and battery life are impressive if thats any help.
We have solid walls and it plays from about 25m.
Renovating house so its on for about 10 hours a day, charged on tuesday and still going now.

I assume not many people have compared two or more of these, so it's going to be hard to say which will offer the best sound quality, unless some website has done a group test.

Is it your intention to use the Audiocast's you have?

Audiocast uses WiFi, and unless I'm mistaken, that's for receiving only. To use Audiocast with speakers you connect it to the speakers via a cable.

UE and JBL speakers are Bluetooth, so you'd stream to those from a smartphone or tablet. I imagine they have AUX input though, so could be used with a cable rather than Bluetooth connection.

The Sonos uses WiFi or Ethernet, so similar except that will connect to your network and will have better range than Bluetooth. No AUX though AFAIK, so can't be used with an Audiocast.

Yes I do intend to use the audiocasts. They both have aux afaik. (JBL/UE boom 2)

I prefer hip-hop/dance/rap with the odd pop/top40 etc.

I was hoping someone had actually used these as reading the reviews the JBL is best but I cant decided if its worth paying £65more per speaker. The problem is its supposedly better for base and outdoors despite not being 360.

The thing is I have the space in the house for larger speakers such as the JBL Xtreme portable at £150 which is usually a lot more but not sure if its worth paying more for this speaker as although a bigger speaker, reviews say it has too much base and can move off its feet.

I just want the best speaker for house parties with the potential to add multi room support on from my audiocasts which I already have or any other method.

Last night we tended to play music from TV so if its possible to have it go through TV/Multiroom speakers from youtube that would be ace.

I bought the UE Boom 2 and so far so good but in hindsight not sure if I should have gone for Sonos.

The speakers are loud enough and quality is fine but you can definitely notice the lack of bass on hip/hop and dance songs.

They are fine for easy listening but as soon as I turned on my PC speakers on you can notice a big difference.

Also not too sure how fiddly bluetooth connection might be between adding 1 or 2 speakers as it seems a little faffy i.e syncing to 1 on bluetooth but then having to pair them in the app or remove 1 or connecting another device etc.

*I will say however, having them in multiroom with alexa synced up is pretty cool - just ask for a song to be played and away you go :)
