UEFA Champions & Europa League Football Thread ** spoilers ** [15th - 17th March 2022]

No idea what to expect tonight, 50/50.

I expect the result will depend entirely on which of our players decide that they can put the ball in the net. Against Spurs, Ronaldo got a hat-trick from an xG of 0.85 but in other games we have had an xG of nearly 3 and scored none.

Fingers crossed that we play better with the OT crowd than we did in Madrid.

Same here. I actually think we will lose. We aren't a good team and it's only that Atletico's level is not quite where it was that means we are still in this tie. Obviously hope for better but there is no evidence recently that suggests we will win this.
Team as expected and I'd only really quibble about Maguire keeping his place, however he's the captain and its not easy to drop him for that reason.

If anything that should have been a penalty if Elanga went down, beaten to ball and hit Elanga with his hands.

2021 and the guy who can clobber someone the most still gets protection... needs a review

actual urgency in MU play. Good so far.

We've done this a few time since RR arrived. It usually goes something like:

Huh, turns out very few teams can play well against an aggressive press. We are capable of pressing sides.

45 minutes later*

We don't have the fitness to press teams and now we look dead on our feet.

Last time I saw this type of play pressure was the first game RR took control (Palace was it?). Since then, its been all over the place. possibly a couple of stand out moments.
