Hopefully we'll pick a strong side Wednesday to avoid another Basel fiasco, Vidic is out through suspension though, Cleverley who came off injured against Everton was only mentioned as a should be fit for next weekend's game and although they haven't been mentioned recently Carrick and Giggs are both currently injured (as are Young and Smalling) Hoping the team will be;

---------------De Gea---------------
-Jones--Ferdinand--Evans--Fabio-
Valencia--Fletcher--Anderson--Nani
---------------Berbatov
------------------Welbeck

Subs: Lindegaard, Evra, Pogba, Morrison, Park, Rooney, Hernandez

Would be nice to have the game wrapped up and give Morrison some more minutes after his impressive debut at Aldershot last week

Hoping tonight we get a result against Marseille so we can nail down qualification for the next round....still felt we got lucky a couple of weeks ago when we bagged an injury time winner against Marseille.

Fergie just said that Ferdinand is no longer a first choice CB.

I've just heard that also, be a bit odd for him to put it as bluntly as that though so will be interesting to see the actual quotes when they appear.

Arry's been sniffing around him for a few summers now so would be interesting to see if he's used as some kind of sweetener to try and get Modric (assuming Modric doesn't still have a hard on only for Chelsea)

Even though Genk’s form has improved since the last game I expect us to come away with at least a draw tonight.

Gibsons been picture in first team training again today, uhoh.

Cleverly won't be back for the Sunderland game apparently.

It's not a surprise Rio is slipping back, he is nearly 33 and he's battling with injuries a lot. I wouldn't be surprised to see him retire soon. It's a shame because he's great but he's been lacking for a while.

In additionally news, Rafael was back training today and I think he played some reserve action last week, so may be back in.

Retire? Really? He'll still be going for at least another 3 years IMO

I've just seen the press conference and he didn't explicitly say he's no longer first choice just that he has 2 fantastic young defenders and he hopes to keep all 4 at the club (interesting that he said 2 young defenders, does he now view Smalling as a RB or did he forget about Evans)

I can't see him being around that long when Jones and Smalling are knocking on his door.

I'd imagine he was referring to Jones and Smalling as Evans is nearly 24 now, which I wouldn't say he'd refer to as one of young defenders, especially as he's been playing in the side for a few years.

Gibson was injured during quite a bit of the Transfer window I think Shami, that and his wages demand seemed to make any negotiations or interest break down.

Thank God our game is being shown on Sky Sports. Not only do I have work tonight but I don't think I could take Adrian Chiles' stupid face and sly remarks, I might well have started cutting myself or taking to drink.
