An utterly must win game for us and as Shakhtar will be more than happy with a draw it'll probably be much more condensed than the last meeting. Mata is our key to unlocking packed defences now so hopefully he'll be fit.
I assume you're going too?

Mata came back to training yesterday so no worries there and yes, I will be going.

I hope we can really come flying out of the gates like we did against Arsenal. The home game showed how important it is to start when the whistle blows. We've been playing much better lately.

I would like to see

----------------Lloris
Walker - Caulker - Dawson - Naughton
-------Huddlestone - Carroll
Townsend ------Falque ------Bale
-----------------Ade

Or something to that effect. Would have liked to have kept Smith but he has gone to Milwall or MK dons, cant remember. Walker really needs a rest imo. No reason that team cant get a result but this is 100% must win imo.

Hmmm if Santos starts then i see nothing but a loss for us tonight against Schalke, a draw would be good if we can manage to get one. But i fear that this could be another game we lose :/

Im really hoping Santos doesnt start and isnt on the bench, hes not fit to wear the Arsenal shirt and moreso after his stupidness at OT, when he asked for RVP's shirt at halftime :/

But still would like us to see win this game fingers crossed.

EDIT: Walcott doesnt look to be in the squad tonight due to illness of some sort.

Santos, Ramsey and most likely Walcott are out.

I guess Vermaelen moves to left back although his form has been pretty awful recently. Not sure how i reckon it will line up, 4-5-1 maybe? That wasn't very effective before.

--------------Mannone
Sagna, Mertesacker, Koscienly, Vermaelen
Arshavin, Arteta, Cazorla, Wilshere, Giroud
--------------Podolski

If Farfan is playing for them and Santos starts for us then I don't think I'll even bother watching.

EDIT: Ahh, Santos is out? How come? I dunno why we haven't played Vermaelen there more often, sure it's not his preferred position but at least he's a defender, though he's been a bit defensively suspect lately.

Thankfully he isnt so at least thats a start:p.

Best im hoping for tonight is at least a draw but who knows, maybe we will summon up the confidence to actually go out and win the game :p

It'll take a big turnaround in our mental state that's for sure, we don't look like we have any confidence whatsoever and the team selections so far this season haven't been very good either.

True, any idea as to how we are lining up??. SSN earlier on were giving a probable lineup but i only caught a few names ie Coquelin might be starting.

Still waiting for SSN to put it up again but that was a few hrs ago :/

I haven't seen any starting lineups online, haven't really looked deeply though. I've spent the past few weeks hardly reading any Arsenal news because most of it is depressing. :p

I hope Arshavin and Chamakh get a start though, I really feel sorry for Chamakh, he did great against Reading, he hasn't played for ages and I'm sure when van Persie left he thought he'd get more playing time.

Yep same here, think Arshavin needs to get some game time. Its funny how hes been out of the starting line up but yet Wenger still defends him ie i mean if Wenger doesnt have any faith in him anymore then why not sell him and get some money for him. Personally i dont want to see him get sold but rather Wenger play him more so he at least gets some playing time, consistency and confidence all at the same time.

As for Chamakh, i read that he more or less said the same thing that when RVP left, he thought he would get more time playing. I wouldnt mind seeing him start or come on as a sub if we cant get anything going.

Honestly we havent got anything to lose, if we lose we lose but if playing Chamakh and Arshavin means we get a point or a win then great.

Its going to be a tough game against Schalke, more tougher that we play them at their home. But im going to be as positive as i can, hard to do these days with the way we have been struggling lately.

Sooooo COYGS!!!...show some passion and get a result one way or another.

Oh looks like Walcott has miraculously recovered from his illness:p. Looks like hes in the squad but no idea if hes starting or not.

Looks like we are lining up like this:

Mannone
Sagna, Mert, Kos, Verm
Walcott, Carzola, Arteta, Wilshere and Podolski
and Giroud up front.

According to SSN.

Think i'll watch the Madrid game. Man city will win now the pressure is basically off and Arsenal I just can't bring myself to watch. Sorry Arsenal fans
