Big win for Celtic considering they can't normally buy an away result in Europe. Rode our luck at time but by the same token we could have had two more goals.

What a performance from Forster, didn't put a foot wrong the whole game. I'm far from convinced by Adam Matthews though, just seems too laid back.

Same again next week please.

I will be ******* furious if we chuck this away.

Chance to play in Europe and he puts out a **** team, what was the point in trying to finish fifth if this is the result.

1-0 down to nobodies, ******* farce.

Andy Carroll is not included in the Liverpool squad at all, while teenager Raheem Sterling starts alongside Fabio Borini.

Soooo he's really a part of Rodgers plans at Liverpool then...

Doh didn't see this thread before, stonking free kick by R. Taylor puts Newcastle level. 1-1 HT

Surprised to see Newcastle fielding a (more or less) reserve team in the Europa league qualification game though, not to be disrespectful but it's possible they might not get another bash at Europe for a few years so why throw this opportunity away? UEFA really need to do something to make the Europa league more attractive to play in.

It's more a case of 3 games in 1 week.

Half our team where playing with knocks vs spurs at the weekend.

As a toon fan I'm intrigued, basically they have an 80k a week squad player that Rodgers won't play. Carroll has said he won't sign for anyone other than Newcastle and we are offering a season loan plus option to buy at £13mil. Liverpool have obviously dismissed the offer but what are they going to do? Bench him till January on 80k a week or allow Newcastle to get away with murder.

1-1 for tonights game, thank god..I want a decent run this year in some cup

We asked for the games to be moved, but they wouldn't, we play Chelsea in under 48 hrs

Premier League > Europa

There was absolutely no reason to field a strong side tonight, especially with Chelsea on Saturday AND a home leg still to be played.
