Jesus our squad is so small :( must win Champions League game and we have to start Fellaini and a right back who hasn't even played 90 mins yet. Basically nothing on the bench as well.

Lololol. Citeh and Arsenal would have a decent chance, depending on who they draw. If all of the last match day's games ended in a draw, right now Chelsea could draw Gent. Gent. Citeh wouldn't mind Wolfsburg or Zenit. Arsenal wouldn't mind either of those or Juve. Those would all be completely winnable ties. Why be so ridiculously pessimistic?

Chelsea just lost to Bournemouth and are two points above the relegation zone, banking on them to win any fixture is a push at the minute, in my opinion.

City are out of form and without their leaders, so similar situation.

Manchester United aren't good enough.

Arsenal might, but they have a lot of players out of form, injured, and tend to drop away in Europe in the latter stages.

All my opinion, of course. I just do not think that English clubs are up to doing much beyond the final 8 in Europe.

They all have the ability to step up though which is important

Hargreaves caught out there, didn't realise he was live and was asking how they could keep their only chance of winning on the bench :D

Yeah. :p

Carrick has looked keen to pass the ball forward whenever he's played, so that's probably why he's benched. Can't be having that.

And that's Carrick, who is hardly a forward passing machine to start with...

LvG has picked a strange team considering this could be a turning point in his United tenure. Only thing I'm glad not to see is Rooney really. Why Fellaini is there and Pereira and Young are on the bench is beyond me.

I bet that Felliani will be the striker and he will stick Martial out on the wing. He says that we can't expect that much from Martial yet and I agree to a certain extent but a good start would be sticking him properly up front.

It's not banking on Chelsea, it's saying they still have a reasonable chance given the players they have, and the fact the next stage isn't for months.

Citeh arguably out of form because they're missing their leaders, but Agüero's supposed to be back this weekend iirc/Kompany's got a small seeming calf problem/etc - they have a good chance of having those players back... it's not as though the next round is imminent.

Then Arsenal have a bunch of players injured now, but eg. Sanchez will be over this injury by then, Coq's pencilled in to be back... everyone should be, except for Cazorla and any new injuries (*insert joke about Arsenal injuries here*). Although tonight might not be easy for them!

Fair enough, but I slightly disagree.

The next stage is the last 16...

I know.
