Champions League Final:

Route to Final:

TV Coverage:

To be honest it's better they win it now, it'll have a huge asterisk against it forever due to the financial improprieties they've committed.

As a United supporter you may find what I am about to say rather odd.
I want City to win on Saturday. As a club United need to move on from past glories and recognise that we are woefully short of being a team that can win a league or a Champions League. A City treble should help our club focus on doing what is required to build a team that can compete at the higher echelons of European football. It should serve as motivation to players to up their game. Regardless of FFP and the outcomes of any enquiry you cannot deny that this City side is in a class of its own domestically and potentially in Europe. They have a brilliant coach, some wonderful players and a consistency of performance that we haven't seen since the Ferguson era at United. The only thing missing is the Champions League and it looks odds on they will resolve that at the weekend.

I won't necessarily like the fact that they have won a treble. It's unlikely it will have quite the same drama as 1999 and certainly wont be with a nucleus of academy players and may even be tainted with the oil benefactors backing. However, United need to forget the past and focus on
1. Getting rid of the Glazers
2. Building a team that can compete
3. Playing in a style that is not turgid to watch.

2009 up to 2018. If Juve won the CL last year you wouldn't have questioned that. It just makes it fair, you won it when you could spend what you liked regardless of funding and debt. At least they did it without debt and a spending comparable to the other big spenders. I used to love watching United play in the 2000's in Europe and I adore watching this City team play now. I really don't care about the spending, it's been broken my whole life. Yes I'd rather every club could only be owned by English companies/persons but it's always been about the top spenders.

I think Inter are an awkward side for this Man City team to face.

If Lukaku and Lautaro start together in attack and Brozovic, Barella and Calhanoglu all start I'll give this a 60/40 game in Man City's favour. If Dzeko starts 80/20

It is odd because United are not in their current situation because they have dwelled on past glories. They are there through the awful running of the club and the idea that you can just simply throw money at football. We haven't been relevant at the top level in a decade other than our name but at least we seem to have a plan to address that currently but who knows what will happen with the club takeover.

My biggest issue with City is that they are far too well run and funded. They are fundamentally bad for the league. I wouldn't want United or any other team to be as consistently strong as City. European football is the weakest its been relative to England in god knows how long. The CL is in danger of being dominated by English sides and probably City. They won't win it through luck and guile like RM have done so many times recently. They will just be the best team in it by a mile.

A good league is a competitive league and although the PL is more competitive than ever I think City are in dangers of just being untouchable most seasons. Even when a fantastic Liverpool side comes along with a brilliant manager they still fall short almost every time against City.

I have always supported Inter Milan, I have even got a shrine dedicated to them, Ohh had it ages, since Monday I think. Man Utd are just my suitable English team to support so I can contribute to threads on these 'ere forums.
Forza Inter, golaco. probably.

As part of UEFA's learning from the disaster of last seasons final, they're advising fans to get to the stadium at 2pm :o At least the Europa and Conference League final's went smoothly without any sort of issue :/

I’ll be in Bali. Unfortunately. Think it’s a 5am start. Obviously won’t be watching it. Can’t see anything but a reasonably comfortable Citeh win.
If you tune in around the same time UEFA want City fans to arrive it'll be about 9pm.

I'm not sure UEFA have realised that City have 15 fans and it won't take 8 hours to get them into the stadium.

I would personally prefer to see a setup like in Germany where all clubs are 50+1 members owned.

E: Come to think of it that may not be a bad idea for the ownership of a lot of things, outside sport.

ahh yea that outside investment that UTD totally didn't get back in the 90's... :p

Everyone could have done what United did in the 90's in terms of investment but they didn't did they? Well some did but not to the scale United did which they should be applauded for.

The whole myth about United outspending everyone is tiring too. Yes we had big individual spends but that was because we had a nucleus of home grown players that cost nothing. In the whole 90's Newcastle and Blackburn had higher net spends bar 1998/99. The Italian and Spanish leagues far outstripped United in spending power too. Inter had R9 Ronaldo, Juve Zidane, Barcelona Rivaldo. European teams now are weak by comparison.

My point is everyone had the chance to do what United did but today not everyone has unlimited oil money glitch.

People also say the league is more competitive now. I fail to see it. It took 41 points to survive relegation in the 98/99 season. That would have relegated everyone up to 13th this season. The league maybe more competitive at the pointy end but across the board it really isn't.
