Lewandowski with a goal, that is basically a given, Matt Ritchie with an absolutely amazing equaliser though.

Griezmann with another goal, 5 goals 3 assists in 9 starts for Atletico. He had 22 goals from 78 shots in La Liga last year yet no one really talks about him as a great striker. 24 and often plays from out wide and got 22 goals from 78 shots, well under a 1 in 4 ratio. Another big year and he'll be making a 45-50mil move to Utd, Chelsea, Real, City or Arsenal in the summer.

Ireland vs Poland on Sunday will be a brilliant game, essentially whoever wins, qualifies.

I think if they draw, Poland would be through, unless Germany lose to Georgia leaving all three on 19 points, which I suspect is unlikely.

edit - ah no, away goals apply so would depend on the number of goals score in the draw.

0-0 = Poland, 1-1 = Poland 2-2 or more = Ireland

Germany won't lose to Georgia anyway.

Group A is looking interesting.

Netherlands will beat Kazakhstan. If Turkey can beat the Czech Republic, that will leave it all to play for in the final week. If they lose it, I think the Dutch will make it through to the playoffs and then probably the finals.

Iceland 19 +3 from beating Latvia
Czech Republic 19 +3/+0 from playing Turkey
Turkey 12 +3/+0 from playing Czech Republic
Netherlands 10 +3 from beating Kazakhstan

Congratulations N.Ireland. Looks like it's going to be a good tournament next year with Wales all but there and ROI at least in the playoffs (but with a brilliant chance to secure an automatic place).

International week :(

This :(

How can you lose a goal 4 minutes after the end of the game. It beggars belief!

I think I'll just book a 4 week trip to the US next June as it's going to be unbearable watching it again. :(

Really pleased that so many home nations have qualified. At least there'll be some other teams to cheer on when England get dumped out in the group stages.

Be prepared for an e-bay influx of Scotland Gibraltar tickets now. Who would still want to go to that game. Suppose it's all about the booze now just drowning sorrows in the sun can't see many actually going to the game.

Scotland were already in Pot 4 for this tournament Pot 5 for the next one. What hope have we.... might as well close the shop.

1 win in 2015 and that was against Gibraltar not good enough.

Strachan has to go keeps picking the same numptys every time leaving out guys on form like Griffith and Rhodes.

I can only hope that the Netherlands don't make it.
