I'm aware some may think this is stupid but please don't judge

How best can I hide these cables as they don't match my colour scheme.

Was think of electrical tape, though I read that overtime with heat the glue can badly deteriorate.

Black electrical tape would be quickest way m8 if it comes unstuck after time just redo it as its cheap :)

Apparently it leaves a horrible residue. I don't want to ruin my cables/mobo.

Might ask in my local hardware shop, I'll say it's for my car ;)

Akasa make black braided extension cables for theese. I use a set on my second system. Iirc bitfenix make them too.

I know it will sound really ocd, but I don't want cable extensions. (More cables to hide)

If you want to do it in the ultra cheap, you could use some black heatshrink

Heatshrink would be perfect, though I might have difficulties getting it over some of the connectors.

Anyone have any good experience using electrical tape?

I would get rid of the easy front panel connector box thingy and plug them into the motherboard directly. They wouldn't stick out as much and be as obvious.

Then use electrical tape to cover the ends. The heat from your PC won't cause it to deteriorate.

Decent electrical tape will be fine. It shouldn't come off with heat, think about wiring looms in engine bays of cars etc.
