Uh oh only bought 3Gb of ram

My i7 920 is OC'd to 3.885 GHz and I have 3Gb of 1333MHz G.skill ram.

I want 6 Gb now after reading about its performance increase.

My cheapest option is another set of 3 x 1 Gb 1333MHz g.skill.

but would I see better performance from getting 1600 MHz ram? (pc is for day to day use and gaming. )

For performance you would be better using 3x2 rather than 6x1. You'll also need 64-bit OS to make use of it.

already running 64 bit as I always planned on upgrading sooner or later.

going with a 3x2 kit to save wasting the 3 x 1 could I put those dimms in A2 B2 C2 and rung 9Gb of ram? or does that conflict with it?

Cant see any problems with that, 9gb would be sweet
