Uh oh..restore/recovery?

Was setting up XP using Boot Camp for the second time (got rid a while ago). And selected the partition, formatted etc, all fine and dandy, it restarted, booted into OS X no problem, then went back to install XP. Then it asked to restart, so i let it..and it just went to a stiill grey screen, and is now flickering a folder with a question mark, showing there is no install there...XP or OS X.

Stupidly, i havent backed up my install, and wondering if theres a way to restore/recovery, to a earlier date for example, as XP does...or am i ****** and have to completely reinstall, everything?

Looks like the HDD could've failed.. :/

Reboot with installation disk and hold c

Then you can check Disk Utility?

I think bootcamp is stuck in the XP installation loop! It restarts like twice into XP while it installs etc automatically into XP?

Maybe its that.

Nah, it formatted it all.

Sorted it out now, reinstalled everything. Gonna buy a new external to just keep backups though!

Ordered today a Western Digital MyBook Studio 1TB with all the connectors including Firewire 800 which I will be using. Are you going to use time machine? I might have a go with it.

I managed to loose my windows partition when I was experimenting, but luckily that was all I lost
