Basically I built a new system in July. The power supply is an Enermax Noisetaker 550W PSU with adjustable fan.....except the little dial you use to adjust the fan speed, doesn't adjust the fan speed.

It turns around, but I can't feel or hear a change occuring.

I have had no system crashes as of yet, but should I be worried about this?

What should I use to monitor e.g. temperatures and stuff if neccessary?

If its still under warranty then yes its a concern. If it was out of warranty then as long as the fan is spinning at a descent speed and no smoke is coming out then id live with it.

I don't notice any difference when I twiddle mine :(

I always just leave it in the quietest position, seems to do the trick. I seem to remember reading that if the PSU needs more air it will increase the fan rpm despite the position of the speed twiddler.

As far as I know the PSU will always run at a speed it wants, you just are basically selecting what your ideal would be.

Ok fair. I'll let it be, there have been no stability issues so far so I think it's ok.

Good old Enermax PSU's lovely and quiet :)
