Hey all,

I may have just lost the plot! I have just sold my one and only Mac in the house; my 2.4GHz 17" MacBook Pro.

Decided I'd get the mrs off my back by selling my MBP (always wants a turn.. despite me telling her I'm actually doing work!), and then putting the funds towards buying her a little MacBook (& Free Nano ;)) with a little addition of a nice 24" iMac for myself.

Obviously, putting it online was only the first step as I didn't actually expect anyone to buy it for the "Buy it now" price I set.. but low and behold, they have!! I can't explain how shocked I am.

I was hoping for the auction to run a few days so I could wait out the Leopard release and buy one with Leopard pre-installed! Oh well, it's only a matter of a month. Now I can dream up ways to spend the cash.. Might take the plunge and upgrade the studio I run to a Mac Pro, see what happens though.

Just fancied posting as it's probably the weirdest feeling I've had..

It's a promotion for students.. I just tell them I am a student and... BAM! Right in the kisser.

Have you got the money through yet?

I tried selling my MacBook Pro and someone used 'Buy it now' then tried to email scam me into giving it to them. The winning bidder removed their buy it now bid due to an 'inaccurate bid' or whatever and I then emailed the person in question saying: 'Well I assume you don't want it then?'

They emailed back with: 'Why is that then?' and I said 'Because you withdrew your bid...' and never heard anything off them since.

Not wanting to patronise or anything, I just remember being in a very similar surprised situation (that someone used buy it now) only for that to go breasts up.

No money through yet, it only finished at 3pm today.

In fairness the buyer has emailed me, so i'm not too suspicious. I have asked him to confirm he wants to pay by bankers draft *I deliberately banned PayPal* so I'm just waiting for the reply.

I've sold all my Macs via the bay, so I hope this isn't the one that goes pear shaped.. I am usually very good with scammers though, so I'll just wait and see.

Dare we ask the price you got for it? :)

Compared to what you paid? :p

Bought it for £2200 on HE discount, sold it for £2130 (30£ shipping).. so no considerable loss! :)

Someone offered me £1350!!! LOL.

Nice sale, mate.

Just giving you a heads up more than anything - was very disappointed with how mine went. :D

Listed it a second time and it got removed for some stupid reason - stopped selling altogether after 120+ 100% feedback.

Aye, cheers.

Last time I sold a MBP using Buy It Now the buyer came over mine to test it out, make sure it was all there.

I'm on 65 ratings, 100%.. apart from 1 neutral on a mobile i'm all good :)

Ok, just got a reply.. he's confirmed he wishes to pay by bankers draft so I've sent him my details, just waiting to see if he comes through or not.

No big deal if he doesn't, but I've got my hopes up now! haha
