Just moved house and my pc has been left in a garage for about a week. Put it all back together again today and, although I was intending on leaving it in the house overnight first, my impatience got the better of me and I just switched it on. Crackled and a smell of burning and then nothing. Will I just need a new psu, fuse or what? Where do I go from here anyone?

Have a quick visual inside and see if it's obviously something crispy in there.

Swap fuse from a working appliance to make sure it's not that...

...then if still nowt, start swapping parts with another board/computer starting from the PSU to find out what died.

Burning smells are not good. Maybe it got damp.

Unfortunately, as you probably know, you should have a allowed the PC to get up to room temperature (a few hours) before switching it on (condensation).

Unplug the PC and look for any visible signs of damage to the MB (especially around the connections) - hopefully, *if* the PSU has died it won't have taken anything else with it. If you have a decent model installed the better your chances...

Also, as above check fuses etc - but don't try turning it back on until tomorrow.

Good luck.
