Does any1 know if there are any online shops similar to thinkgeek, but in the uk? thinkgeek have such a wide range of cool gear, but with the costs of shiping, VAT, customs charges etc... its not realy worthwhile to buy from them. so im wondering if there are any UK equivilants, preferably ones that have the same sort of range of clothing, caffeine products, and gadgets.

t-shirts may not be to bad to ship, since they fold them up rather small and such. but for caffeine stuff, espeicaly bottle drinks, the weight + size makes shipping costs insane, as extra care has to be taken as bottles are fragile.

plus bigger, more expensive, packages are more likely to be stoped by customs, thus meaning you have to pay VAT on top of everything.

i can undetsand if the total customs charges was £40, but just the import duty?

once i had a package that not only did i get import duty on, but the customs also charged me for opening the package so they can search it, then the courier charged another feee for collecting the package and then taking it to their depot (they wouldnt even deliver it to my house untill i paid customs chargers (used to be possible to pay customs charges at the door, not any mroe though)).

as for a package being a 'gift' that will only help if the cost is less then £30 (not sure if that has to include shipping or not).

and MuvverRussia, thanks for that link, some rather nice stuff there.
