UK commandos aim to row the Atlantic ocean

Didnt some British guys try row from Australia to somewhere but go into trouble in the first few kilometers and had to be rescued a few years back? :p

One of my friends stepdad built his own yaught with the aim of sailing around the world. On the maiden voyage, the pump had been set up wrong and was sucking water in, and they had to be rescued after about 20 minutes :D

I used row last year and one of the guys was planning on doing this..

he was training for the marines iirc. hard as nails!

I thought this had been done loads of times before? Didn't that Ben Fogle do it earlier this year?

Yeah, 2 of my dads friends have just completed it, but they weren't racing.

That was from the canary islands to antiga in the west indies - UK to US mainland adds another 500 miles to it (plus I bet the seas aren't as much fun further north).

Whenever I see anything about the crossing of the Atlantic Ocean I always think of this fact -
The journey of the sperm to the egg is equal to a man swimming the Atlantic Ocean made out of treacle.

Now shoot me.
