usb vs ps2 is interesting.

would it help if keyboards used usb3?

Interesting question for sure. I was thinking about that the other day. Im using the 6GV2 now :) just tested it out. Very responsive in games for sure it has the mechanical click which people also like. For me it seems a bit too small on the left side but im used to the G15 Rev 1 with the epic load of G keys. Its actaully a really nice keyboard which I would consider.

It's worth pointing out that they've moved the backslash key, I didn't notice that at first. Could be annoying for typing question marks, but in return you get a bigger left-shift.

Also, in the picture the @ symbol is above the 2.

Actually, thats a fair complaint. Same as the massive left shift key. I always used the \ key for switching grenade types or similar. One less key around your wasd fingers is a bad thing!

How do these compare to Razer's entry into the mechanical keyboard world?

Furthermore, from what I can see these have no G keys what so ever?

Also, does anyone know if Logitech are looking at doing a mechanical keyboard at any point? I want Mechanical, but I want Logitech xD

Well I am guessing this keyboard uses Cherry MX browns, think it really should be made clear what switches they are using, yes you say tactile but given the amount of info you have on the board incorporating brown into it would be useful.

I like browns got them in my filco, this board does look good, not sure I agree with them moving the \ key.

Okay now I am confused been reading on the net these boards use MX Black switches where are they getting the tactile feedback thing from? Anyone enlighten me.

Also after seeing some pictures the finish looks pretty cheap, personal preference though don't really like matt finishes.

Oh and vs the Razer board, anything is better than black switches they are so heavy it has to be browns or blues (razer). <-Personal preference long gaming sessions can get tiring on you fingers.

\ is my voice comms key. Somehow I use every key on the board especially on the left but not the numpad as thats my mouse hand anyway

Very useful given, I hate that key limit mine is silly low like 3 keys not allowed

hmm £80 is a lot for a keyboard, tbh... also £80 is a lot to test out what they say on the box so I m staying with my G15 and I can game in the dark :P

I use a Apple Wired Extended Keyboard on my PC. It's probably one of the best keyboards i've used. Although, despite it being a British layout, Apple kinda left some keys using the American Layout (as as the keyboard in this post judging by the pictures)

For example, the @ symbol and the " (double quote) keys are swapped (@ is above number 2)

It's aluminum and solid and only cost me £40 and after using it most plastic keyboards just feel cheap and nasty.

I don't really like either tbh :p Mind, I like the plain Razer mechanical keyboard, and for seeing when gaming in the dark, the screen illuminates the keys anyway :)

Do you know if the Keys are in the UK layout, having the " key above the number 2 and such?

Has anyone at OCuk opened one to confirm the above yet? I'm particularly interested in the 6Gv2 I would like to know if SteelSeries have made a UK specific version so that...

- there is a " (speech mark) above the number 2 key instead of the @ symbol
- the @ symbol is on a key in the UK standard position to the right of the ; key
- the \ key is next to the left shift key

Fully UK, it has the " above the 2, has the @ sign in the right place and the \ key. :)
