That is affordable.
Still using it today.

The markup on 'gaming' mice must be insane.

Really like the M30. Though it looks like a polished version of the RAPTOR-GAMING M3 DKT - mouse released last year by Raptor gaming. Perhaps they are a sub brand of Corsair?

Edit - just seen the news article that Corsair aquired Raptor gaming. Looks very nice I may have to change.

Is the palm bit of it longer than a G500 as I find my palm drags on the matt a lot?

I agree here, the markup on gaming mice is through the roof and a huge con at that. A lot of pros are still using Intellimouse 3.0 / WMO mice and own everyone. The only reason you see pro players using such gaming mice, is because they're told to do so by their sponsor(s) (as it's in their contract to use the sponsor's equipment).

I have a G500 and hated it. The swappable scroll wheel was awful as it made it feel sub par in both usage situations. The sensor housing kept coming loose and wobbling during tracking at low DPI settings and the braiding on the cable was useless as it snagged itself once and then was permanently bent/knotted.

That said the M40 is barely any cheaper than the M65 which is a damn fine mouse and I'd say definitely worth the little extra outlay, unless you absolutely have to have an optical sensor.

Still running my old 518

Think the M30 looks good but the M40 looks pap. Can't see me replacing my 518 though until I have to.

Not sure on the pricing for the M40 when you can pick up a M90 for £44.99 and a M60 for £50. Maybe I'm missing something here?

That M30 looks awful in my opinion...

Surely Corsair could have done better than that? :p

The M40 looks the business though.
