Great price.... but box shows 1024MB

We have got the stock so fast, that Pallit don't even have images available yet for the 2GB part, rest assured they are 2GB and as soon as we get the images we shall update the images on our site.

At this price compared to some 1GB models the extra RAM is costing pennies. :)

Are these the cards to have at the mo if your gaming?

The 2GB card offers very little performance improvement over a 1GB model. However if you game at high resolutions or enable a lot of AA/AF then the extra memory can help. Also more memory comes very in handy if you ever consider 3D Vision / Multiple monitors as thats where additional memory can help a lot. :)

This price is very good for people on a budget wanting to setup multiple monitors below the cost of Ati's 5870 2GB price of around £340. Normally you lose some memory at £200, but not this time.

I understand this, but why don't Nvidia offer the 480 GTX 2GB instead of 1.5GB? This would be welcomed by many friends who choose Ati's 5990 instead - I know this is just two 1GB 5870s together. (And please people, don't be sarcastic and say why not not have 4GB, etc. Just wanting to know why Ati can churn out 2GB and special 4GB models but Nvidia haven't yet)

Why Nvidia doesn't offer 480 2GB? 15 memory modules with 384-bit bandwidth, simple as that. They may come up with a 3GB model but who would benefit from that? BTW there are no 4GB memory on single GPU cards. It's only when dual Radeon 5870s are put on a single PCB where Radeon 5970 has 2GB for each GPU.

sorry to bump this but has anyone got any benchmarks on this? im considering 2 of these as, well the 1024mb versions in sli spank the gtx 480 for the same price but for pennies more i could double the ram.

i like minimum 8x AA 16xAF in my games, and im pretty sure that would net some fps in games like gta iv with large draw distances? not to mention being able to grin to yourself that i have 4gb if video memory even if its only really using 2gb =p
