I am looking for a full UK layout mechanical keyboard, thinking brown at the moment. I am looking for one that not only has some of the keys switched from the US layout (" and @ for example), but also one that has a full sized return, \ next to z, indents in the right place etc. As most of the keyboards I have seen so far are just the US layout with the markings on the keys changed, or even European layouts.

Are you sure?

Unless marked otherwise, all of the keyboards OcUK sell are UK (= full size return key etc)...

I found that out when looking for my next purchase... I have a QPAD QT85 and it's full UK layout.

Then 95% of the images are incorrect and is therefor false advertising, I have done some research into the K series I think and it seems that there is no full UK layout version, just the US version with " and @ changed and a £ key.

And it's not just OCUK.

There are 2 layouts I believe. An ANSI one and an ISO one. Then a few variations between.

The standar UK layout has a smaller left shift, A longer backspace top right, Vertical enter, and The @ key near the right shift.

The USA layout has the long enter key, short backspace, A button under the backspace, Long left shift and the @ key on number 2.

wrong.

You want the 105 key ISO UK layout.

I have the same problem when I get keys.

The 2nd one is not a UK layout, look closely and you will see that quite a few keys are different.

It's just a different font throwing you off.

Edit no your right lol! something not right at all with that!

When I got mine I had to go into a brick and mortar store for this exact reason.

I can't use a keyboard with a variant layout.

Unfortunately I can't link mine for you because OCUK sells keys and I think it would be against the policy.

If you google this it might get you close tho, mine was the cheapest of the cheap

If OCuk doesn't sell it then it should be ok to post info on it.

most keyboard manufacturer's don't succumb to general national layouts, they design their own around what they think is optimal in ergonomics.

this leads to custom keyboard languages in windows they usually supply on the cd or online.

for example steelseries issued me a custom keyboard language to install:

All of our keyboards are ISO (UK) layout unless otherwise stated. The images are for display purposes as manufacturers supply us with images from more common layouts.

We don't want to devalue any stock by taking our own photographs so quite often the images show Ansi Layout.

Also top tip for windows 8 and 10 users Windows Key + Space changes language between US and UK.

daskeyboard 4

It has the 'perfect' layout. And the useful media keys along with a volume knob.

the 'ultimate' version has blank keys, but in the same layout

we are a UK based reseller called Overclockers UK buying UK stock from UK distributors.

It makes no sense for us to be selling anything other than UK ISO layout.

All keyboard stock images are provided to resellers normally in the layout that is most commonly produced first [ANSI].

This means that the stock images that resellers have to work with is a US layout.

I am having the content team add a not to every product description in the keyboard section to clarify it all further.

Thanks for your response. But I was under the impression that there was a UK layout that similar to the US layout, so a smaller return but with " and @ swapped and a £ sign.
