Just some advice - check the backup policy of the provider. I know A2B2/Vaserv had some problems a while back because they were hacked and hundreds of VPSs were deleted. No backups.
Also, another thing to check is what type of disks your provider uses. The biggest bottleneck in a VPS node is the disk system. Using SATA disks usually results in sluggish performance, especially in database or disk intensive applications. You'll want to look for a provider that uses SAS/SCSI disks, ideally in RAID10. A good VPS running on SAS disks rivals a cheap dedicated server for raw speed, and is even better in terms of redundancy since cheap dedis rarely have and redundancy whereas a VPS node will have dual PSUs, RAID, and be better quality hardware all round.
