Considering the coach to London Thursday morning then traveling back Saturday afternoon. Around £50 for travel then £160 for accom. Leaves us £290 for 2 days survival.

Ouch, no deals on coaches then? Some times national express is cheaper than megabus. You can usually find a room for 50 around Hyde park, cheap bed pretty nasty.
If you both like wine, vinopolis is a fun few hours.

London is going to have the most to do if the weather isn't very good. The museums are awesome, plus general sight seeing and shopping.

Actually that's not a bad call. Belfast or Co.Antrim are great for a break.
And I say that as someone who lives in Central London.
