The centrals will take an absolute battering this weekend seen as theres only 2x working, they down to about 2mb already and its not even 10pm yet as Telehouse 2 is buggered, a BT balancing prob, so everyone who is on Telehouse 2 is still throttled to 2mb regardless of wether it says Green 7.2mb, been happening to me past couple of days, everytime i have logged on, and been on Telehouse 2 ive been stuck at about 2mb, you have to disconnect and reconnect onto a different pipe, either Global Switch 1, or Telehouse 1 to get proper speeds, and what with everyone going to be doing that rather than be stuck at 2mb on Telehouse 2 all the time i can see both working centrals doomed this weekend. :(

Doomed already, both Telehouse 1 and GlobalSwitch 1 both BLACK, oh dear :o
sounds kind of bad ! so are they still worth joining ,or best to wait and see how things go ?

They are still worth joining, its BT that have buggered the balancing up, they've got Telehouse 2 stuck at the throttled 2mb, even though its Green 7.2mb, so everyones disconnecting, and reconnecting to get on to Tele 1, and Global Switch 1, as they are unaffected, but trouble with that is everyone will be doing it, so will be bad this weekend. :)

Tele 1, and Gs 1 have gone ok now on Green, im on Tele 1 and getting about 6mb at the mo (which is my MAX anyway), but im expecting it to get bad at 10pm when the off-peak starts, as everyone will be getting on to these 2x pipes to set all their downloads away, they don't decrease lower than 2mb like, but ive a feeling they'll be hitting black and getting packetloss galore with everyone avoiding Tele 2.

right i understand ,so what is a better package the home Max or Office Max ? as i noticed different upload speeds the office Maximum upload speed is 832kbps is this better than the home Max ?

Well the only difference is the higher upload on the Office, and a better contention i think, but it costs more, also from March 1st office packages start offpeak hrs at 8pm, instead of 10pm, so they will have an extra 2hrs off peak, im just on the home package me, the MAX 60, brilliant so far, i suppose the office package is only good for the higher upload rate really. :)

right so the download rate will be the same of them ? are you paying £29.99 for the Home Max 60 ?

BT balancing has finally been sorted out, im on Tele 2 now, and seen as it has the extra 155 segment, its still on 7.2mb Green, and im getting my full 6mb. :D

i can't connect to these forums anymore for some reason on ukfsn, is anyone having this problem too, i did a tracert and its having probs but its leaves ukfsn network fine, it seems to go down london for some reason and just dies there, am on a friends pc atm. Yeah they've put you on a 2mb fixed by the looks of it, your not on MAX i dont think as you get 448k upload on MAX, those stats of 2272 down, and 288 up are for a fixed 2mb, id e-mail support and get them to get onto BT to get them to put you on MAX as it looks like BT ballsed up. :)

:(

Nope, I'm not on yet, first time was BT being incompetent, 2nd time was me not putting in the right post code (WTF!) and hopefully everything is cool this time.

(As I move the email with details to the saved folder before I'm screwed again...)

I just got connected to UKFSN today.

A few things are a bit " " but i've never had ADSL MAX before, so I don't know if it's actually a problem or not.

When I connect, it says i've got an 8.1 meg connection. Router status is 8128 kbps downstream, and 448 kbps upstream. Yet i'm not getting those actuall speeds... i'm still downloading at around 230 KB/s ( 2 meg line speeds ).

Another thing is, i can download files etc at 230 KB/s, but webpages take ages to load! and this is every web site, not just some. So I don't know whats up there?

And I also keep getting disconnected / re-connected ( I think this is normal for ADSL MAX for the first 10 days? )

If anyone could give me some help or info on one of my problems, that'd be great ;P

It is still the first day i've been connected, so I guess I should wait a few days and see if it sorts its self out.

Any more info I can give, just ask.

I have read that it takes 10 days to settle down ,so just wait yntil then ,if nothing changes email Jason

You'll start of on 2mb speeds, but they'll pick up during the 10 days training as they'll need to find what speed your capable of, so it'll fluctuate up and down during those 10 days.

Not sure on downloading as mines fine while downloading, maybe you have your upload rate set to high, 20'k's about the norm while downloading so you can still browse fine etc...

my reply from enta when i emailed about still beeing on 2mb

Hello,

Thank you for your e-mail, I have taken a look at the availability
checker for your line number, this has come back stating:

"Our test also indicates that your line should be able to support a
potential ADSL Max broadband line rate of 2Mbps or greater."

There is no capping in place at our end so this looks like the line is
only capable of 2Mbps.

so what is it then BT hasnt put me on 2mb? or my line doesnt handle over 2mb but my naibour has 8mb with aol and he has never had a problem
