Actually I remember I never did get an activation date email at all, although I requested a specific date anyway, 14 days in advance. Was not impressed at all with UKFSN I'm afraid.

Bit disappointed with these so far, all i had off them was the invoice to pay the bill which i did yesterday and ive had no other contact to tell me how things are going, how did the rest of you on ukfsn go.

What were you expecting?

I got a simple activation email and then another mail telling me it was on and confirming the router config details.

Set it up last night and is currently connecting at 5mb and 448k upload......so not bad.

I know it will fluctuate in the next 10 days but it's still better than i had before.

At the end of the day, BT still have to do the work for them. Requesting a date is ok as long as BT can do the required work on that day?

Mine was active within 6-7days i think....

With every other adsl i have been with you get updates on how the order is going, so really this is what i was expecting i have had no contact of them at all just the pay bill part from entanet, so i aint got a clue when its going live.

Edit: emailed them and the email never came through so they resending, goto say they have the fastest email support i have seen fantastic, i sent 2 too Nildram 1 month ago and still had no reply.

I know how you feel, Pipex were basically the same...odd they're part of the same company as Nildram, no?

UKFSN email support has been pretty damned nippy with me, I find it at least comforting that even if the UKFSN front end isnt run by many people, they still take the time to respond to the customer.

I never got any e-mails or anything from AOL about my migration, how it was going, when nothing, i phoned up gave the MAC code, she gave me my username/password said it will take about 7 days, that was it, 7 days later my old ISP wasn't working so i just logged on to AOL with my new username/password and i was on, then about 2x weeks later i got a letter from AOL saying my migration was done, and i could now use them, and i just said you don't say, ive been using you for about a fortnight. :D

Is UKFSN mainly a downloaders ISP?

I was thinking about migrating to them, but i'm also a gamer so need my good pings :p

Can anyone give me a bit of info on what the pings are like with this UKFSN ?

Must say am abit concerned now i have been watching a page that show the 3 central pipes entanet have and pretty much on the stroke of 10pm 2 of them went from green too amber, now its nearly 11pm and 2 of them are on red and one on green.

Is this affecting your ADSL line?

had mine enabled tuesday.....set it up yesterday.

So far it's stayed at 5mb, so pleased.

Downloads up to 300kbs....

we'll see how it goes for the next week. hoping it will stay like this.

mine has been d/l @about 100k last night(bit slow but i am happy that it is staying :( at that, eclipse were throttlling me down to 25k before i left) :(

Well as bad as people moan at nildram my speeds never drop from 475kbs, i sync at 4672 which is 4meg and 24/7 i get 475kbs so thats what i will be comparing it too.

What sync are you getting ANDARIAL, and Reality Bites if you getting 5mb sync you should be hitting 500kbs+ dl.

Enta net have introduced a "anti-loss tool".

The tool works by reducing the maximum rate limit when capacity hits a certain point and then allows it back up slowly if the capacity returns.

They have also advised that they have ordered a 4th central.

How long until traffic shaping hits I wonder?

Is'nt 'anti loss' just another form of traffic shaping ?

At the end of the day, your still getting your download rate cut ;)
