Hi All

Have had Ukonline 22mb in my apartment working absolutely fine and stable at 18mbit for over 9 months now. Now all of a sudden its broken.

Basically the noise margin just drops through the floor and the line stops working. Its still synched at full speed but i can't send or recieve data and the router loses its IP address.

The wierd thing is, if I reboot the router the noise margin will go up to 6db, where it works fine, but then other the next 5-10 minutes it will drop down to 1db and the internet stops working.

Ukonline's repsonse seems to be to cap the line speed and see what happens, a process which is getting tedious as each time they do it, the line still breaks.

I have the router plugged directly into the test socket and nothing else is plugged in. I have also done all the usual, change filters, change leads etc.

Getting a bit stuck for ideas. Does this sound like a fault with the line?

Thanks
Aaron

If the line stats are dropping that low i'd have thought capping the line would do sweet FA. Surely they should be at the stage of passing it to BT by now ?

probably some work has been done on the line to add the noise...............not a lot you can do really im afraid as they wont escalate it......You could try rewiring the socket and make sure its getting proper connections.

i had to reboot the crappy 834 gt everyday when synched at 10mb due to noise levels............rewired it and its been over 2 weeks synched at 12 mb. So it was worth fiddling
