Hey guys,

Im moving from a cable area to a new house where i cannot get cable,

i currently have 10mb ntl connection, but dont think i will miss it, as its been all over the place the last couple of months.

Anyways on with my question, Ukonline, the house i am moving to in maidenhead can currently get upto 8mbs are they any good as an isp?

Whats your experiances with ukonline? or are there better? bulldog were offering services, but i think they wanted to take over the bt landline, as i am looking to get sky+ would a bulldog line interfere with this at all? As if i remember rightly sky boxes need to be plumbed into the phone line.

If you could offer any advice or suggestions that would be cool.

Cheers the mink and wez

UKOnline's shared LLU, so your voice service sticks with BT (or whatever CPS/WLR provider you use).

No sign of them on that Samknows page either

Uk online doesnt appear on the list, its easynet that you are looking for. If easynet is on there then you should be good to go.

What does the Ukonline checker say??

hey up,

ukonline says i can habe their top service of 8mb at present.

So im guessing that they havent rolled out the 22mb service to maidenhead just yet,

i can live with 8mb for now lol

Incorrect.

I think he's just trying to say that UKonline use Easynet's LLU which is indeed the case. According to that Samknows link, the exchange is enabled for Easynet LLU so I'm not sure why they're not offering ADSL2+ services in that area. In theory if they offer 8mbit then line length shouldn't be an issue.

If that's not what he's trying to say then I have no idea :)

im with ukonline there not that reliable ive had quite a bit of trouble with my connection not working because of there hardware in the exchange. they keep telling me it needs an firmware update but they don't seem to rushing to sort it out.

They are fine until you have a problem. My 8mb connection was down for 5 weeks - changed to 10mb cable and haven't looked back.

Been with Ukonline for years. Started with 1mb IPStream and progressed through 8mb LLU and now on their ADSL2+ service at 19mb (8dB SNR, 22dB Att)

No real problems. Not a great fan of Interleave on ADSL2+ but Fastpath wasn't as reliable so I can live with slightly higher latency in return for a solid connection.

Customer supports is infinitely better these days than it used to be.
