5850 is still cheaper, and the 470 barely pulls ahead in performance. On the other side, the 5870 is only £40 more, yet it's a big performance jump over a 470.

Although the nvidia card do have a distinct advantage that due to the CUDA they are the only range atm that are supported by Adobe, that the accelerate Premiere Pro Mercury engine. For some this is a major purchasing point

this is why I'm nvidia all the way, Can't wait to get set up and use after fx and see what the mercury engine does.
