;) After careful consideration i have decided to go for a system with ati cards in it and not nvidia. i have always been an nvidia fan(7800/7900 gtx 512mb)but after some threads on the forum i have had my mind changed.
Anyway the ultima extreme crossfire x1900xt-x fx60 (FS-021-OK)for sale on the oc website is what i am looking at purchasing as i want the best.
The system stats look amazing and the bench marks are great.
Does everyone out there agree that it is the system to go for for top end gaming???.....cheers ;)

Hi!

Welcome to the forum :)

That is a top of the range PC. Very very few PCs can touch it

The only PC that would be quicker is the quad SLI PC, but that is also £4k!

That PC will last for many years, having the fastest dual core processor money can buy, two of the fastest cards money can buy, the new PhysX processor and 10,000 rpm disks

Yes you wont get better than that (preside the quad sli which was mentioned). Some will say wait for Conroe and next gen cards. Which is one option and totally up to you. Or just buy now as there is never a good time to buy.

Hmmm... always a funny one that - you should always go with the best kit you can afford, but I'b be wary of splashing out cash for the sake of it. Remember, no matter how flash your rig is, if it exceeds the requirements of the software around, then it's wasted - There is nothing out there at the moment, or even on the horizon that requires even half (literally) what you're spec'ing there.

And remember, in a year's time, you'll be able to get twice the power for half the price. I always go for a couple of models down the chart. The FX's are great, but considering you go from £260 for an Opti 165 and in the region of £850 for the FX - is the extra few Mhz's you'll get really worth it? (you have to answer that one for yourself after having a long chat with your wallet)

Personally I'd spend the cash on better peripherals (like one of those awesome 30" Dell monsters - possibly the ONLY justification for having outrageously overpowered SLi setups :p )

That rig is awesome - I'm truly jealous, but can't help feeling that there's a lot of wasted cash in there!

Oblivion at 1920x1200

Whilst it won't cripple the system, it will definitely make it break out into a sweat :D

Maybe, but if you read around the Oblivion forum, SLi hasn't worked out very well for it so far, In fact I've seen guys running x1900xt-x's getting worse scores than me.
