Hi Folks

Im looking at getting a complete gaming rig for a round £1600 - 1700 (monitor, keyboard, mouse too) I have been looking at the below pre- built rig

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=FS-175-OE&groupid=43&catid=2040&subcat=

with the crossfire upgrade, SSD 64gb, windows pro, and memory upgraded to 16gb.

I could do with some advice on my selections i.e. are they the right choices, are the necessary, also would it be worthwhile to upgrade to the higher i7 processor? In terms of a monitor I havent got a clue on what to look for in terms of spec when picking to get the best value for money so any help would be much appreciated. The computer is going to be used 90 % for gaming, that being said I want to run my games maxed out with a decent FPS am I going complete overkill with this system?

Thanks in advance

The memory could be only 8gb, I never use all of mine and I do a lot of gaming. The crossfire option is optional but it will help with the FPS. The i7 isn't really needed over the i5. Most of it is pretty good though

thanks for all the advice guys, I'm sure I read somewhere that windows home caps your RAM to 8gb or something?

sorry to be cheeky but any tips Monitors wise, as I say im clueless about specs on them?

Home Basic is limited to 8Gb for the 64bit version.

That operating system in that pre-build is Home Premium which is 16GB maximum for 64bit,

Most 27" screens have the same resolution as a 24" screen, only the really expensive 27" screens with IPS panels for example are higher.

Anyways, this PC will not struggle with a 24" screen or same resolution 27" screen.
