Seems soon a "ftp" version of Ultima Online is coming out. Probably next week by the look of things.

I quit UO in 2004, wasn't a fan of the new style UO post Age of Shadows release. Still, it's my favourite game of all time. I played on Europa. Did both pvp and roleplay too with the Guardsmen Militia. No doubt it's a niche game these days and dated, but I will definitely have a look at it.

Anyone else thinking of giving it a go (or returning?).
 
I got my old accounts back that got banned back when AoS released.

I may have a ponder when it's free to check out, but I played a lot of UO:F as well.
 
I have fond memories of this game and also horrible once. Lost my account and everything on it due to a dispute with my mom back in 2001(i was only 15 back then) and she for some odd reason gave her boyfriend access to my account. Lost everything, log cabin, collections and gold due to him ripping me off. Haven't been able to play that game since. All the weird stuff they added since doesn't help either :P

I know of UOF. Doesn't appeal to me though as it's US based I think?

I actually reactivated an account in the end. People are being super helpful with gold and gear, builds etc. If anyone does play and on Europa then could possibly get you sorted via others :p. Space everywhere for houses now and people will give you several million gold to help.
 
Nice, will have a look and see if my old chars are still accessible, looks like the only major thing locked down for the free accounts is housing?
 
I've never played this but I may take some interest in checking out videos on it. I'm often attracted to the allure of an RPG online game but usually end up disappointed. Hopefully, this will turn out different. :)

No bank - but you get a special vault of some sort it seems.

You're around 18 years too late for when it was in its prime though :p
 
Huge restrictions on storage put the kibosh on this for me. No access to a bank or even friended secure containers apart from "wall safes" which you have to find someone to friend you and presumably modify their custom house to suit you. Can't place a house which is fair enough, but you can't even enter anyone's house in the game only public buildings. I will stick to unofficial free shards for when I do occasionally fire up the game.

Yeah Broadsword seem to never think things out. I find them pretty incompetent. There's some sort of vault system (not the wall safe) thing apparently. Also more storage coming later apparently.

Best method so far seems to be having a character sit on a beetle somewhere for storage (Luna) on another EJ account to get loads of space.

Heh, you can get your bottom dollar they haven't thought of that clever loop hole and will nerf accordingly in due course.
 
Everyone's really helpful and friendly in the game anyway these days, so someone would probably friend and put in a wall safe for you. They chuck money and powerscrolls at you if you ask nicely :p.
 
Their account management page is an absolute mess, cannot see where to request my old account passwords on the "link" page. I can remember 1 which appears to have successfully linked, but the other two passwords have long since been forgotten, and nothing to click to get them back.

Sussed out how to reset passwords but it refuses to let me create an EJ account, infact there is no reference to an EJ account on the management page, just a"resub" "active key" and "active new trial". The words "Endless Journey" are nowhere to be seen. New trial account option looks like it does what it did before i.e. just a 14 day trial. After several attempts at getting into one of my old accounts I thought sod it, I will create another trial to see if that is EJ in disguise, and after all that it comes back saying Mythic account management down for maintenance. So, noping this for now.

Welcome to the mess that is Broadsword :p.

I emailed them to get an old account back. No longer had access to the email either in over 10 years.
 
I went back and had a look around a couple of years ago when I was bored, made a terrible video about it too lol

Crazy how dead it is but people still paying a sub or the servers (all virtualised I guess now) are kept going

Tempted to try but I'll get depressed seeing how dead Europe is. A lot of the players I once knew have sadly passed on last I heard too. :/
