Now, i've been thinking into getting into one of mmo. Got Guild Wars but never realy got into it and this two seems as my best option.
I tried Ultima few years back but as i was playing on old laptop and was sharing connection with 3 of my housemates it didnt realy catch me.
I'm not interested in much fighting, i'd rather set up a shop and make stuff for all you ppl that want to die. :p
Obviously since i want to make weapons/armors i'd like to use them myself from time to time too. :D

Is there any other mmo that would alow me to live a life like this?

Thanks for any sugestions. ;)

Perhaps Star Wars Galaxies?

I can't say whether the NGE update has destroyed the crafting side of the game as I have never returned post NGE, maybe someone else can provide a current update.

Crafting and resource collection was great.

EVE Online has a fully user driven market. Probably the best MMO for someone looking for a good industry based MMO.

If not looking for such a hardcore experience I hear that pirates of the burning sea has decent industry supplie and demand system.

If you want a buddy key for eve just give me a shout.

Taking what i said back.

Just updated AoC beta with the latest patch and the damn things removed half my files.

/sigh

Eve is extremely good for the budding industrialist - you can play an entirely crafting character, there's a whole load of skills specifically for the crafting side of things.

SWG still has a purely crafting class, no idea what it's like since the Great Ruining ™

Both UO and SWG are shadow's of their former selves. I'm afraid you missed the bandwagon as far as these two go. I wouldn't bother going over to either of them now, they're totally ruined.

Agreed, EVE has a great crafting side and the player driven economy is excellent.

UO is still one of the very few games that you can log into and just "live".
As a Miner/Blacksmith a very long time ago I'd log in and do nothing but mine for a couple of hours or spend a few hours by a public forge somewhere.

Alas games these days "demand" you gain XP to level up as fast as possible.

UO is still playable, but the days when people would log in for hours on end and basically "have a laugh playing" seem to be long gone.

Looks like i better wait for AoC then. Hopefully i'll get my beta key soon.
I know Eve is good but i was after fantasy mmo. :D Kinda thought it was clear cos i only mentioned fantasy games. ;)

Sadly, UOs glory days are long gone, at its prime it was undoubtedly the greatest MMO of them all.

On the other hand, if what you say is true, that you arent much into the fighting and would rather set up shop and trade etc...then Age of Conan most certainly isnt for you either

Not really too sure what to recommend, unfortunately the sandbox style MMOs are seemingly a thing of the past with most MMOs these days being focused on grinding xp and mobs rather than the crafting and social sides of the games.
