Afternoon all, purchased an ultima vanquish system from OC in april....had no real problems with it at all up to now .... Will post pics and vids when i get home from work ...

Link is here...but i think my system was slightly different when i got it in april..i only got a 650W psu and i have a Radeon 5870 1gig card in there...

Turned it on this morning, and noticed the bios splash screen flickering (the screen where you can choose to go into the bios or load xflash etc)...thought nothing of it...got the usual (win7) "windows is loading" animation...then where i would normally see my login prompt on the blue backgorund...there were loads of orangey squares splattered all over the screen...and neither the display picture (usually a flower) or the password box was displaying properly...All i could see was an alternating cursor icon flashing white then black at the start of were the password box outline would normally be.

Put my password in ...saw my desktop for a brief moment..then screen goes white...then dekstop re-appears for a second or so...with icons missiing..and screen then goes blue with white lines all across it...then another multi of screens with varying colours and lines etc...then seems to settle on a white screen and nothing else. ..

had to hard power cycle it as could not see a thing ...

powered up in safe mode....system loaded fine, no problems with graphics (as this is obviously not using the graphics card to display)...

powered down ..started in normal mode...splash screen stayed solid...login prompt appeared without the orange boxes all over the screen..put my password in...looked like it was logging in and then got a solid green screen...and again had to power it down at the switch :(

Now every time I seem to get the same issue as I mentioned first above...rendering the machine unusable in its current state...

Any suggestions on what this might be ? Im guessing my Radeon 5870 is poorly ? had a quick look through the clear window on the side of the antec case...checking to see if anything has come lose but can see that the gfx card is screwed in and looks secure as it did when i first opened the box the machine came in.....

Any help would be appreciated ...

On my motherboard there i can see an LCD display which cycles through red letters and numbers continuously...could these offer any guidance as to what the issue could be ?
