I am strongly thinking of buying this system. It should give me about a 800% performance increase over my old SN25P w/ AMD64 4600+ S939 & NV 7950GT system. I was planning to get the Antec 300 case and a ATI 4890 to go with it. (CPU performance (or raw performance if you like) matters to me over gaming (GPU) performance).

I am a bit paranoid with overclocking because I always feel that it reduces the longevity of the hardware. I expect the thing to last at least a few years at best.

What are peoples thoughts on this system? Please post even if you don't have this system!

It looks good, go for it. The DVD Drive doesn't have LabelFlash or LightScribe, but i'm not sure if you would want that. Although i think that the 335 is a better case, it's got the same mesh front for better airflow but it has tool free drive bays and expansion slots, a feature you usually only see on high end cases. The graphics card is fine, the 4890 is one of the best cards on the market today. It's very much the equivilant of the 285, but it doesn't have PhysX or CUDA, which aren't really widespread anyway. It has a modest overclock, so i wouldn't be too worried about it shortening it's life too much. It only has a 1 year warranty, which isn't that much. You could just underclock it back again if it's that big of a deal, but it will still last a fair few years. What OS are you using? I would suggest getting one with a Win7 upgrade voucher (preferable Pro, WinXP mode is win :D ) since that will support DX11, and people are saying that will be the biggest leap in graphics of the decade, which is a big claim when you look as SD-HD, or even games from the start of the decade.

Thanks for your insight mate.

I would be installing Windows XP Professional X64 Edition on it. The best performing and most stable OS I have ever used.
