rjkoneill - What are the advantages in going to a single very fast 6 (12HT) core chip over the slower individually dual Xeons with 12 (24HT) cores of the previous spec?

I'm spec'ing a Video editing rig and I'm getting close to decision making time and that info would help.

The previous spec did not feature dual core Xeons. You are thinking of the "Ultima Demolisher" system which we still sell.
