Is this thing ever coming to our shores? Last I heard September was the month it was supposed to be coming out, but you still can't get it from anywhere, what's the hold up?

GO TEAM "i don't posses the common sense of a six year and can't work a rotary polisher without destroying my paintwork, so i need to spend a hundred quid on something that can still kill my paintwork but i might wake up from my coma and notice in time."

Editted for accuracy.

People are stupid.

Names sell.

Companies cash in.

Lets stop trashing my thread.

I need a machine polisher, I have a black car infested with swirl marks, the portacable is only available is 120v and you can't get it over here, the UDM is coming over here in 240v form so I'm interested in it and orbital polishers are much much safer than rotary.

What is the problem?

It's nice to have the latest toy, but anybody with a brain in their head can safely work a rotary. Even me.

The important bit is the choice of compound and pad used.

Stop putting off the job and get it done before the really crappy weather shows up.

You can actually ship the PC over here providing you use a transformer, but it ends up costing around £200. Guess it depends how much youre willing to pay and how desperately you want a polisher.

V true, I dont see the big deal about using rotarys. People make such fuss about ruining your paint work if youre not a "professional". Its simple, choose the correct pad and polish, set it to its lowest rpm (circa 600-900rpm) and polish with a even force distribution, and be v careful.

Ford paint is soft enough without having to be careful with a rotary, I'm either going to wait for the UDM, get someone else to do it, or just change my car for a proper colour :p

Do it yourself manually. I do with all my cars and they come out ok, still some minor swirling, but I can live with that because it hasnt cost me that much to do, time and money wise.

Tried manually polishing and whilst it does work to a point, it's really knackering.

I like a clean car as much as the next guy.

But 'detailing' is just laughable.

If your car is worth less than it costs to purchase a Porter Cable then I agree that it's a waste of time however if your car is worth £20-£30k then spending £200 isn't gonna break the bank is it?
