Ultimate fine wine?

Amazing Turning RTX 20 still going strong 7 years on. Look forward to RTX 2080 Ti revisited in 2028 to see how well it compare to RTX 5060 with improved driver and enabled all RTX 50 exclusive features and RTX 6050.

Yep, odd (another odd) take from DF, just shows stagnation at the lower end
While I don't disagree with the stagnation point, I think there's a little bit more to this one. One of the key points here is that while the 2080 Ti was a big disappointment at the time, at least some of that was due to the software not keeping up with the hardware, given how poor raytracing was during its heyday and how awful the first iteration of DLSS1 was. While Nvidia reserve some of the new software shinies for their newer cards, the 2000-series has benefited from quite a few of them along the way, to the point it's a better card now than it was at launch.

That said, yeah, DF have gone very strange of late. Whenever they do a PC performance analysis video on a new game, all they seem to care about any more is "console equivalent settings", which is frankly of zero interest to me. I also thought their response to the Gamers Nexus/Nvidia review pressure thing, which was to say "well I guess it's quite bad provided GN aren't making it up, but they really should be putting MFG in their reviews", was really poor.

If 2080 Ti had released today it would probably have been 25% more expensive with 25% more of its core disabled, that seems to be what happens with every new generation.

Seems a little odd to talk about fine wine and then showcase the cards in situations not even providing a 60 FPS experience :s

anyone hanging onto the 2080 ti can still experience some RT goodness, it was way ahead of its time, amd took 2 generations to match less than 50% of the feature set..

nvidia should do something really innovative with the 60 series (no i am not talking about 8x mfg)

Not sure about that when it cost £1k ? In 2018 big price increase from previous generation and RT being more marketing than actual use

But we didn't have much RT games at the time and now it doesn't really have the horsepower, more marketing feature and it cost £1k ? In 2018
