Costs more than buying the parts individually. Well, for this week at least, it'll be the same price next week, as the UD3R is on offer. I suppose it is clocked though.

Thats because its pre-built, over clocked, set up correctly, torture tested and supplied with Overclocked BIOS profiles and a setup guide included.

Customers can always buy the bits separately and do it themselves if they have the skills - no guarantees on clocks though ;)

That's true, the guarantee to get a chip that will clock well is good. Plus, like I said, the UD3R is only on offer this week, and after that, they are around the same price. I've also just noticed the OCZ is on offer, so after this week it works out about £20 cheaper to buy the bundle, and you also get an O/C. I'd buy it if it wasn't for the fact that I want a UD4P and a Noctua heatsink.

myself and Locky specced and assembled this bundle this morning as being the affordable way to get i7 with all of the perks - we have been working hard with AndyOcUK to spec a bundle like this, he has managed to get memory prices to the right level so that we could achieve a good base system with 6gb of ram

with it - you get

* a good overclock
* a quiet cooler
* 6gb of ram at low latancies

the bundle will arrive to you pre overclocked by the OcUK tech department

it is a guaranteed overclock where you do not have to worry about getting a bad chip

if something goes wrong you get full technical support from the systems support team and a point of contact you would not get if you were to purchase parts seperatly

and you get one of our installation and overclocking guides

plus its under £500!

at launch - i spent that on my chip and memory alone!!! :eek:

is OCZ ram any good? been hearing a few problems with them, if not i might just put my build a month early:D

I bought some for my i7 upgrade - it's not really designed for overclocking but that doesn't matter as apparently you can run 'em slow and tighten the timings. Seems like good stuff for £70.

Does that mean that it comes with the all the components in the mobo? Just asking because that isn't traditionally the case with bundles.

No the cpu and ram are pre-installed to avoid customers bending pins etc.

But we have and do pre-install heatsinks on customers request on rare occasions

Yes all the parts used in bundles are retail apart from the CPU which is OEM,

they all get packaged into one box and a Guide included if the overclock settings are lost.

locky mate im considering this bundle with a silverstone fortress and coolermaster 700w cpu.

Whats the chances of my being able to have it all fitted inside the fortress for delivery?

PSU as well so then all i gotta do is hook up my GPU and drives etc when it arrives :)

If you ask them when you order it, they will assemble it for you before shipping. Not sure if it costs extra (I would assume so), but they do it.
