Ultimate Nostalgia for the PS1

Was that the one with Kiroshi on it? The wierd puzzle game where you played as a man vs some black and white cubes? That was awesome if it is the game im thinking of :D
It's Kurushi (a.k.a. Intelligent Qube), absolutely excellent game once you got the hang of it, I had a jap import one that I sold on ebay a couple of years back for about £15.
It's possibly the only PS1 game left I'd snap up if they released it on the PSN, I don't realyl get that nostalgic about previous gen games, but that and Kula World (which I have bought) are exceptions.

Btw, Colony Wars was another wicked game, they could do a lot with that IP if they picked it up again.

I just found the original Demo Disc 1 from 1994 for the Playstation! It actually runs on the PS3! I really got emotion seeing the Dinosaur and MantaRay tech demos. Then came the playable demos of Battle Arena Toshinden, Wipeout and Loaded!

The previews section also made me smile. Anyone remember Jumping Flash?! And the music... I'm so happy to have this disc lol. Anyone else remember it? I think it either came with the first edition of UK Playstation Mag or the PS1 itself.

Came with the playstation, I remember it being shown off when the intro of all those games play at the beginning of the demo disc.

Wipeout at the time looked like the best thing since sliced bread.

edit: looking at the youtube vid at top, this isn't the first playstation demo disc, I was talking about the original one that came with the playstation console.

Future Cop LAPD?

I thought that but I don't think it is. Not that I remember anyway. In that you're more of a Mech, but I know you can kind of transform into things. Great game that was! :)

Edit: I just had it!!!! And then I forgot. :(

Wait! If RP2000 reads this, it's on a demo disk with Z, Motorhead and some game where you have to wander around graveyard type places discovering old Londoners graves, Like Samuel Pepys. I'll do some Googling but I definitely remember those being on the same demo! Wahoo! narrowed it down at least! :D

Edit again: I've found the game!!!

It's called Crime Killer link is here! Review.

:D :D

I have literally around a hundred PSX demo discs and about 70 PS2 demo discs plus all their original magazines. Holding onto them, but they all got played to death every month.

My first game was TOCA Touring cars. Truly awesome at the time. Then I got Gran Turismo and lost the rest of my life for a few years!

ah demo disk 1. the demo disk with the greeny/black sleeve insert on the case if i remember rightly.

edit: cant seem to find the one im thinking of, maybe im wrong?

I must have gotten a much earlier one, as my demos were;

Battle Arena Toshinden
WipEout
Destruction Derby
Novastorm
Jumping Flash
Loaded
ESPN Extreme Games

I traded in my SNES and shedload of games, and only just had enough for the PSX itself, and no games :p But it didn't matter, me and my mate stayed up the whole night taking it in turns playing the DD demo :D

I willl have to get my box out of the loft, I think I have about 3 years worth of demos for the PS1 and every single disc for the OPS2 mag! Some old corkers in there for sure. Remember playing abes odyssey demo for hours!

I remember my freind showing my the dinosaur demo disc on his PS1 when it first came out. At this time we were used to playing SNES, and Megadrive, streetfighter/mariokarts, Zelda etc. I had an Atari ST, and Playstation was totally fricking mind blowing at that point in time.

It wasn't until a friend brought over Gran Turismo and we played that for a day and a night, that I went out and got a PS.

That's the one! The music for the menus is immense.

I fell asleep last night playing the demo of Discworld (on the Playstation UK Mag Demo Disc 2)! The music was in my head all night. Pretty far out dreams were had.

Wow I spent all christams day playing the demo disc with Destruction Derby and Wipeout on it. :D

I also loved the demo of Kurushi, never played the full game.

I still have that demo disk too! Glad I'm not the only hoarder :D Also got a few more of the early ones.

Ps. Toshinden.. Blimey I haven't heard that title in a long time, thought it was a cracking game but being just a lad back then I had no hope of affording it!

Oh I just remember one of the gems in my collection. Anyone remember G-Police? Incredibly difficult from what I remember, but also great visuals!

Really wish I could back up my originals onto my PS3 hdd.

Kind of remember G-Police. I always remember trying to fly out of the map and hitting that grid thing way up in the sky lol. Think that was G-Police anyway.

this thread actually reminds me of a cool demo i used to play called codename: Tenka, anyone else remember playing this? i also remember renting sentient from the videogame shop and getting very stuck! maybe i was a bit young :p
