A friend is after a pair of speakers for his PC, but he has a small desk and wants them to be as small as possible. His budget is around £100 max. I said I’d look into it as I suspect he’d otherwise end up buying some trash from a supermarket / Amazon etc, but all the usual suspects I’d recommend (Edifier etc) are much too big for him.

I was thinking of the Kanto YU2 but even those may be too big, and they’re closer to £200. Would be most grateful for any recommendations :) Thanks.

Use will be mixed music, videos and gaming.

What about a soundbar that goes under the display?

My suggestion was going to be the kanto yu2/audioengine a2 but if they're too big then...

He'd probably better off getting a decent pair of Bluetooth Earbuds/headphones if space is an issue :p

Going for tiny 2.0 speakers would pretty much always mean the low frequency would not reach below 80Hz without a subwoofer as well.

As mentioned above Soundbar (with sub) could be an option, but it would be more for general media consumptions and gaming, but for music generally it won't be as good as a bookshelf speakers with at least a 4" bass driver (those bookshelf speakers would be bigger than what your friend would want).
