Hi,

Just got my DFI Ultra-D from OcUK this morning. Insatlled my 3000+ Venice E3, and installed window!!

I got down to overclocking, but my is this BIOS LOADED with features!! However, cant seem to get my venice past 2.6GHz! I had the voltage at 1.450, but cant seem to selct which one!!!!!!!!!! There's too many!!

So I was hoping is anyone has/had an Ultra and OC'ed something like my Venice or 3700+ sandi. I am currently using 512mb of crucial ballistix PC3200. And give me the recommened voltage settings, timings etc. My GeIL Ultra PC4400 will be ariving tommorow!

up the cpu voltage to 1.5 or 1.525 and tthe ram voltage aswell to 2.8. Shove a divider on the ram maybe a 166 or 150 (the latest bios has almost every divider) then up the fsb

What BIOS did your board come with?

Mine was the 11/14/05 and it seems fine so far. Currently at 2.52GHz at 1.47v (under volts from 1.5v)

My BIOS is the same as your, it does 2.6 right now, but really want to try for 2.7-2.8. Is it because i Have only 1 512MB Ballistix stick on the board?

I have the same BIOS as you but have now updated it and am going to try to see if i can hit 2.7 what stepping is your cpu?

Maybe Ballistix is just rubbish ram and no good for oc'ing, do youn think il get better resuklts with some GeIL Ultra RAM?

Use a divider ont he RAM to back it off, then increase the HTT/"FSB" speed.

Check the temps. Is it overheating?

Maybe you've just reached the limit of the CPU?

checked the temps, can yo tell me what divder exactly 9/10 or something like that as there's so many, also i dont think the cpu has maxed out. Anyway I'll try again when my 512mbx2 kit comes tommorow adns ee what results! Thanks! :)

Your best bet is to head over here and have a good read through the overclocking guide followed by a good read through the overclocking database. It will answer all the questions you are likely to think of.
