on the bios i have 'cpu vid tartup value' and it is now set at 1.425 volts. I change it to 1.5 volts to try and get 3ghz out of my processor and when i go back into the bios it hasnet changed.

do i need to change the 'cpu VID control' aswell to make it change? it is prime stable at 2.8ghz but if i move it to 1.5 it will save the bios then just before windows starts it will restart itself. Also i have seen people writing about how they wont go past 1.6volts. my options only go up to 1.55 anyway

also what is the 'cpu vid special control'

thanks

thanks, yeh i know. im not going to go above 1.55 anyway.

do i change the cpu vid control to 1.5 aswell as the cpi VID startup value?

You can use either or both, just remember the formula:

CPU Voltage = CPU Vid * CPU Special %

Personally, I'd say that unless you going above 1.55V, I'd leave the special alone and just change the VID, as you then know exactly what voltage your putting through the chip.

I've never changed the CPU VID startup value.

thanks, ill change mine when i get home. (turn startup off and put VID on 1.5)
