I was just browsing around, saw the GDP Pocket. Its truly tiny, possibly pocketable.
Specs arent great, but it looks like fun.

Does anyone have a very small but capable gaming laptop they'd recommend?

GPD do a variety of devices - the GPD Win are more suited to gaming controls wise than the Pocket line though not always as powerful specs wise. There are also the Max, etc. versions which are reasonably powerful.

They are fairly adequate devices for gaming as long as your expectations are realistic and surprisingly good for general use performance wise given the size - I have two of the GPD Pockets. But build quality though OK as a minimum is hit and miss (though materials are reasonably decent) - one of mine is far better put together than the other and likewise driver support is a bit hit and miss.

I had to open one of mine up to reposition/fix a couple of issues with the WiFi antenna and realign things a little as it seemed like it had been rushed in production (it was from an early batch though while the second one was from the production run). The official bluetooth driver was a bit flaky as well.

Something I find amusing - when I whip my uh Pocket out at work people are like woah that is better quality than my monitor.

I keep one of the Pockets in my work bag as it is just flat out better having my own optimised environment for some stuff - the work machines are all ageing i5s with insufficient amounts of RAM, etc. even the mobile platform of the GPD devices performs better :(

Wish I could try one up close.
Wonder how the best model compares to the steam deck in real world performance. Id love a micro laptop with a proper keyboard, though.

Oooh missed the USB-C in and HDMI in functionality - that is pretty neat might have to get myself one of the variants with that feature.
