Now this may be me after not having me ultra for a few weeks but thought i would post anyways.
I am waiting for newer stuff so been using my 6800gs in mean time, anyhow it died on me so i bought a gts 512 g92 core.second hand.

But i swear everyting is clearer and crisper than my ultra.been working my way through cod4 again and im blown away how crystal it is.much easier on the eyes. is the g92 core much better than the g80 was.

what you guys think.

Yeah maybe your right, but my other half said she thought my screensaver looked clearer, and normally the only thing she ever says is "what you bought now"

what res are you using, i have an 8800gts 512mb with a 24 inch lcd, great card but one of my mates has more or less the same rig as me, part from an 8800gtx ultra. hes able to use a lot more aa/af than i can. the 8800gtx/ultra may be considered older generation but they still hold a good place in the market.

Could it just be that the screen resolution is set higher?

I'd laugh if it was!

Do you ever mess around with game video settings? or just use whatever is automatically chosen by the game? because this really seems that the res is simply on a higher setting.

Has he got a GTX or Ultra??

jasont what drivers are you using?

My res is 1920-1200
Nvidia drivers im using r 175.16

I say i only said it cos everything looks more vibrant, maybe it was going from the 6800 for a few weeks that my eyes adjusted to it.

The reason my 6800 died was prob the res i use on my 24"

Nice card though for what you can get them for second hand now.even new.

More than likely, the 6800 will have far worse quality than the 8800 series.

Sounds like your seeing the difference coming from the 6800 to the 8800.
In which case it's much more believable as the 7 series was a good step up from the 6 series, the 8 series was a massive leap over the 7 series in terms of IQ and speed.
