Just found out that my i7 H77 ultrabook can run 16GB @ 1600MHz.

Currently it's 8GB (4x2) with a 32Gb Msata and 240GB SSD.

It's £50 and done. Is it really going to be worth doing

Did you ask yourself what you would be doing on the Ultrabook that would need 16GB of RAM before you posted this thread? Nope, didn't think so.

Okay the added twist is the old ram can be sold for £25 to fund the upgrade

The added twist is that you still haven't provided any information about what you will use it for. It's a pointless thread until you provide some reasoning for why you feel you ill need 16GB.

If all you want is bragging rights, or the warm rosy glow that comes from making a hardware upgrade, then just go ahead any buy it... you don't need our permission.

If your only going to end up £25 out of pocket then yes I would do it, even if you don't benefit massively from it now it will probably help with the resale value of the laptop when the time comes.
