Hey guys, quick question I'd really appreciate some help with. I'm looking at picking up a 14" Ultrabook for general purpose use (non-gaming) and can't decide between a version with or without the dedicated graphics card. The version without has Intel HD 620 integrated graphics. I also can't decide whether to upgrade to an i7 from an i5 given that it's the dual core u processors and I've heard it wont make much difference.

Basically I need it to handle anything I throw at it over the next 2-3 years besides gaming. I've heard that a lot of the new video output will potentially require dedicated graphics and potentially Adobe's software as well and don't want a situation where the laptop is completely outdated within 18 months.

Any help would be hugely appreciated, thanks!

i7 and dedicated GPU is always better than i5/integrated GPU everytime provided the dedicated GPU is not something silly like a GTX 930m. Especially if you are non-gaming and using Adobe software.

What are you intending to buy ?
